Disney gets a High-Fashion Makeover

The New York store Barneys, has collaborated with Disney for the upcoming Christmas Campaign, which sees iconic characters including Minnie, Daisy Duck and Cruella de Vil getting high-fashion makeovers...

Entitled Electric Holiday, the campaign pays tribute to Disney's famous 'Electric Parades' and will be launched with a three-dimensional light show on 14 November 2012.

"This is a lot of fun," said Barneys creative director Dennis Freedman, who explained that the store has tried to represent the fashion industry as accurately as possible. "The important thing to me was always that it had to be authentic," he told WWD. "It really had to hit the nail on the head in every detail."

Alongside stills of each character, the campaign also features a short film centring on a dream of Minnie's, in which she's front row at a fashion show — with her newly-styled Disney counterparts appearing on the catwalk.

Other characters to feature include: Cruella is dressed head-to-toe in Rik Owens, Mickey in Balenciaga, Goofy in Balmain, Princess Tiana in Proenza Schouler, and Snow White in Nina Ricci.

This is one Christmas Display that I'd really love to see. New York for Christmas maybe...hmmm?

Fashion Illustrator: JSK

Illustrating is one of my Favourite pastimes, and when I found this interesting illustrator, I had to share him with you. JSK is a freelance Fashion Illustrator and Art Director based in Sydney and Seoul...

As the founder and creative brain behind his personal brand Susu, he created the Susu Girls: the thin, long legged, short-haired characters, which are JSK's signature style illustration.

A Susu Girl is a unique individual who is drawn to something edgy; who loves trends but is not afraid to explore and follow her intuition. Susu represents a confident woman who is truly 'of the moment'.

Susu is noted for its quirky, curious ('Q-rious'), cute yet sexy designs — A harmonious blend of playful juxtapositions.

Since then, his recent clients are Bloomingdale’s, style.com Korea, Vogue Korea, W Korea, and GQ Korea amongst others (Now that's an impressive list!)

Now this is my kind of Merry-go-round! ♥
