M.I.A in HK

I know I was 'Missing In Action' all of last week, but I was travelling for work, and one of the places I visited was Hong Kong. There really are no words to describe the Degree of Awesomeness of this City and if you've never been I really recommend that you go! ...

From 14-story shopping malls that are open until 1am (can you imagine the amount of shopping an individual would be able to achieve in just one day) to the Amazing Hong Kong Skyline, this really is a city that has it ALL! There cannot possibly be a dull moment here as every corner turned reveals more Amazing thing to see and do.

So today, just a few snaps of my own and some I found on the internet from this Awesome City to entice your Inner Explorer to Travel here:

Times Square!
Street View
The 5-story high Forever21
Granville Road
Hong Kong even has a Disneyland!
A Street in Hong Kong
We had Teppanyaki one of the evenings at Matsuzaka, which was a very exciting experience as the chef made the food dance across the hot steel plate — Dinner and a Show! I tried Foie Gras and some Kobe beef, which were both unexpectedly delicious, and to finish of the Meal they brought out Black Sesame Seed Ice Cream ... which is now my Favourite Flavour!

Black Sesame Seed Ice Cream

This is definitely a city I'd love to go on Holiday to and Explore every inch of it! Have you been to Hong Kong? What did you think of it? I'm Q-rious to find out ...

Grazia South Africa's very First Local Cover Star

It's been local publishing’s burning question since Grazia South Africa arrived on our shores in May: which local celebrity would be the first to grace the cover of the country’s first weekly news and fashion magazine?

With Grazia South Africa covering not just Fashion but Current Affairs, Beauty, Lifestyle and Entertainment, the very first home-grown cover star needed to have the ultimate blend of star power and style to enthrall the magazine’s globally savvy, thirty something, urban professional female reader ...

And today, readers of the 21st edition of the magazine will find out that the ever-stylish singer, songwriter, Idols judge and radio personality Unathi Msengana will make history as Grazia South Africa’s very first local cover star.

Shot on location on the streets of Sandton by Aubrey Jonsson and Mbali Soga, the 33-year old personality and mother-of-two talks Grazia through her favourite styles of theIdols season, as well as how she got into such great shape after the birth of her baby.

Grazia South Africa editor Danielle Weakley says the two-time SAMA nominated artist (who has shared the stage with international superstars including Youssou N’Dour and John Legend) was selected because of her enduring fashion appeal and warmth on screen. “I just love Unathi – she’s been firmly in the public eye since the start of the Idolsseason making week after week of savvy (local!) sartorial choices, which is no mean feat. Plus she addresses the contestants – and anyone she meets - with warmth, wit and grace.”

Long a supporter of local fashion (she has often been snapped wearing the couture creations of designers including Gavin Rajah, Asanda Madyibi and David Tlale), Unathi follows in the footsteps of pop superstar Rihanna, who was featured on the cover of the launch issue of the magazine.

Intriguingly, Unathi was also featured on the cover of Grazia South Africa's launch issue under the headline, “Unathi: Move over J.Lo, SA Idols returns!”.

Comments Danielle Weakley, “Yes, I guess we knew even back then that she was going to be our girl – she stepped out in this fantastic form-fitting yellow dress the week before we went to print with our launch issue - and it was the perfect local fashion start. If I remember correctly, there was even a helicopter in the background!”

Out every Friday, Grazia South Africa launched in May this year and has quickly gained a reputation for bringing news with shoes and speed with style, week after week.
The magazine is aimed at a globally savvy, 30-something urban professional woman who reads monthlies, but wants more.
